Runner Terms

Terms

Runner · Last updated 5 September 2026

These are the terms for using Runner, a running app published by Omiwato AB, Sweden. By using Runner you agree to them. They are short on purpose. Read them once.

What Runner is

Runner is a game you play by running. It uses your phone's location and motion sensors to measure your runs, plays voices and music in your ears, and keeps a story going between runs. It needs an iPhone, permission to use your location while you run, and an account, which can be anonymous until you choose to sign in.

Running is on you

Running is physical exercise. You decide whether you are fit to run, where, and how hard. Runner is not medical advice and does not know your health. Look after yourself on the road: watch traffic, keep the volume where you can still hear what is around you, and never let a chase take you somewhere you would not run otherwise. The game is fiction. The road is not.

Distances and speeds are estimates from GPS and motion data. They can differ from other watches and apps, and from each other between runs.

Your account

Fair play

Do not fake runs. Spoofing location or motion data, tampering with the app, or using automated tools to play breaks the game for everyone who runs for real. We may remove runs and close accounts that do this, without notice.

What is ours

The app, its voices, music, artwork, story and code belong to Omiwato AB or to those who license them to us. You get a personal, non-commercial licence to use Runner on your own devices. You may not copy, sell, or redistribute any of it, or work around the app to get at its contents beyond what the law allows. Apple's standard terms for apps from the App Store also apply.

The game changes

Runner is a living game. Seasons start and end, stories are told once, features arrive and leave, and we may pause or stop the service or parts of it. We will tell you in the app about changes that matter. Runner is free to use.

Liability

Runner is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Omiwato AB is not liable for injuries or losses that come from running, from relying on the app's measurements, or from the service being unavailable. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under Swedish law.

Ending things

You can stop using Runner at any time by deleting your account and the app. We may close an account that breaks these terms. Either way, what you had in the game does not carry over.

Law and disputes

Swedish law applies. If we cannot settle a dispute between us, it goes to a Swedish court. As a consumer in the EU you can also turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes, ARN.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. If a change matters to you, we tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to run with Runner after that means you accept the new terms.
